Shoebox Apartment in Singapore

Accessories with clean outlines were chosen to avoid cluttering up the small home.

Placing large furniture on the compact balcony made the tight space feel surprisingly cosy.

The large bay windows maximise the entry of light, but compromise on privacy. Tinted film sheets were applied to protect the space from prying eyes.

One of the bay window ledges is worked into the bed design to serve as a side table.

The walk-in wardrobe, washroom and bedroom are laid out in one continuous flow.

The living room’s large daybed works as a sofa and an extra sleeping space, and has storage beneath it, too.

White walls mean extra maintenance, but the homeowner didn’t have much of a choice as it was the best solution to making the tiny apartment seem larger.

Instead of a traditional dining set, homeowner Madeline opted for a small built-in table to save space as she lives by herself.
