Shanghainese Food

After pampering myself to a full set mani & pedi at Joanne's place, me just wanna enjoy a good dinner with my sis together. She suggested Nanxiang Restaurant at PS. There are two outlets in Singapore and she only tried the other one in Bugis Junction. She's a picky when food is concerned, so won't be wrong to go along with her.

The service was average but the servings was fast and efficient. We like the authentic Shanghainess Xiaolongbao (小笼包) very much. Whilst the hot soup cleverly hidden inside the dumplings, we quickly slurped it down one by one burning our tongue and throat...woo~

We ordered Salted Egg Yolk Prawn and Steamed Egg with Clam. Both dishes do not resemble to the more appealing images in their menu, they still taste Good....Golden Fried Rice is their signature dish, and its a Must Try if it's your first time there! Rain ordered herself a Dried Scallop with Shredded Egg Soup, and Shanghai Spicy and Sour Soup for me. Hers was fantastic cos they served by per set, thus piping hot and fresh from the steamer. Two thumbs down for mine cos the soup was neither hot nor spicy. I presume the chef cook one big pot of that and serves it by bowl. I would suggest you to forgo this from the menu should you have any intention to order it.

You can forget about the Glutinous Rice 'Siew Mai' too. Similar to how 'Ba-Chang' is wrapped but the fillings inside was tasteless. We ordered too much and our stomach almost burst after the waitress served the last dish. Yup, I got scolded by Rain again for over indulging and wasting food. *humph
