We didn't go to the outlet at Ngee Ann City, instead we tried the new outlet at Orchard Central. We were famished. Luckily the queue was not too long. We were escorted to a table outside. Personally, I would prefer to sit inside. I like to see more on their interior design and the ambience seems better.
Back to our food. I prefer cooked food than raw food. That's why I'm not a Sashimi or Sushi lover for Japanese food. I ordered a Chicken Katsu Set (breaded, deep fried chicken cutlet). Rain ordered a Hire Set and Jack had Ebi & Rosu Set.
The menu has changed and my favorite 'prawn head' is not on the list anymore. We ordered the homemade Japanese curry sauce in separate serving bowl. It taste Super when I pour the sauce over my Katsu. You may also refill the cabbage and rice for FREE !!! Plus, that day there's an offer for Sapporo beer selling at S$5/- a mug only.
Overall, all portions are very filling! I can't finish and you always find leftover of 1 or 2 pieces. That's very wasteful.
Tonkichi is the ideal place for you to go if you are like be, a tonkatsu craver...
Some information about Tonkichi, by the Pokka Food group, is now known as SAPPORO LION (S) PTE LTD. Since opening Japan's first beer hall in Tokyo's Ginza district in 1899, Sapporo Lion has more than a century of history as a pioneer in the food and beverage industry.

Few weeks back, was Jack's birthday. We had dinner at Yomenyq Goemon.
They serve Japanese pasta. Not just tomato or cream base, but many unique pasta flavor that is usually only a common sight in Japan. They combined both Japanese ideas and Italian ingredients to come up with different flavors. So you will find the basic ingredients of Italian spaghetti, olive oil and cheese coming from Italian origin while all the pasta flavors are worked around Japanese palates. That’s how they have come up with slurping spaghetti with chopsticks.
I find that all Japanese set meals comes in whole lot as in etc. soup, salad, rice or pastas.. some even offer two main dishes in mini-form so that you try different flavors... irregardless, you can't possibly finish all by yourself unless you're a Big Eater. I didn't enjoy the pasta like how I do at Aglio Olio... partly due the pasta gives me that 'too much' kind of taste which I feel sick of it after having 3-4 mouthful of it.
Overall rating: 3/5
