It's our first company dinner in 2011 and also the last day of CNY, which is also known as 'chap-goh-meh'! PS reserved a table at Bumba Thai-Indo Fusion Restaurant two days ago.
As you can see, the first dish, also our Chinese traditional dish - Lo Hei.
The origins of Lo Hei salad date back more than 750 years to the days of the Song Dynasty when fishermen along the coast of China would celebrate the seventh day of Chinese New Year, known as Renri ‘everyone’s birthday’, with this fresh fish and diced vegetable dish. According to tradition each diner shares in the mixing of the ingredients, tossing the salad as high as possible with his or her chopsticks and calling out ‘Lo Hei! Lo Hei!’ literally meaning ‘Mix it Up’ but sounding like ‘More and more prosperity’. The higher you toss the more prosperity!
Saying all our wishes loud and clear, hoping God heard us and grant our wishes in brandnew 2011! Hee.. The food were good but many of us still prefer the Lo Hei salad. It really wheat our appetite from beginning! Unlike those I had at other restaurants, where many ingredients will be poured on top of the vegetables. Here they served you fresh salad and salmon with one sweet sauce as topping. Simply refreshing and the presentation is not messy!
We had a great time..had some red wine and abit catch up here and there.. Indeed a fulfilling company dinner!
