School Holidays! (again)

One of the weekday we went Udders for Ice-Cream (again)~

On 25th May, I accompanied my boy to RI's DSA Open House. He had fun during the Maths orientation. The teacher is impressed he's able to solve the problem easily and I'm proud of Brandon! There were many CCAs at RI, but my only is only keen at Art & Photography Club. Initially, I was equally excited with Brandon about his choice for RI. After I attended the open house, I started to have second thought whether to enrol him in. The compound is magnificent and well-maintained. The students are incredible, outspoken and very well-disciplined. It requires an average marks of 264 and above to get into this school. Besides excellent academic results, sports CCAs are strongly encouraged which Brandon lacks most in this area. All along, he is not an active boy and Mathematics is the only subject that he excel.

I was enthralled by so many CCAs .especially Sports... Badminton, Basketball, Bowling, Cricket, Golf, Hockey, Judo, Rugby, Sailing, Squash, Swimming and so forth... Clubs and Societies etc. like Astronomy Club, Humanities Club, Photography & Art Club, Achieves & Museum Club and so many more... Uniform groups are quite standard etc. NCC, NPCC, Scouts, Red Cross, Brigade... I really like to Brandon to be more active and out-doorsy.

Anyway, in the end, we forgo RI and I helped to register for Duman High and Temasek JC under the Integration Program. We wouldn't the result if he gets in either of the preferred until August. I told him it doesn't matter if he gets in as long he did his best. I find Singapore kids are pitiful and stressful.

His dinner, Bolognese Pasta and Mushroom Soup from Astons. We are fortunate as one of their food chain is at one the nearby coffee shop and it is only a 5mins walk from our home.

Brandon is conscious of my weight gain and wanted me to look into my daily diet and drinks.

It means a lot to a 'mother' who loves her child more than anything. I am very touched when I saw the letter he written to me. He attended an Adam Khoo's 3-day course  in school and was totally immersed with the trainers and the program. It's good to give a boost and motivate these kids before the PSLE. We parents understand our child's frustration and how they drag to do their homework every day. We been through all that as well during our school days. Unfortunately, the education level in Singapore is getting demanding and harder for the children properly enjoy their childhood moments nowadays. Its all about facts and figures... just like what we are facing at our work place now. It's unfair to the kids~ I hope MOE will look into it and not putting further stress to our next generation. Its unhealthy...why can't the kids just be their own... be a real lill kid!
